In Serbia, AI is present, but not yet evenly distributed or systematically leveraged.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"341\" data-end=\"482\">This does not mean Serbia is lacking in knowledge or capacity. On the contrary, the potential is there\u2014but adoption is gradual and selective.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"484\" data-end=\"487\" \/>\n<p data-start=\"489\" data-end=\"543\"><strong data-start=\"489\" data-end=\"543\">Where does Serbia stand today when it comes to AI?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"545\" data-end=\"629\">In Serbia, AI is most widely used in environments where the following already exist:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"631\" data-end=\"734\">\n<li data-section-id=\"1elxcx6\" data-start=\"631\" data-end=\"654\">\n<p data-start=\"633\" data-end=\"654\">technical expertise<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1awpgct\" data-start=\"655\" data-end=\"692\">\n<p data-start=\"657\" data-end=\"692\">exposure to international markets<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"l0aviz\" data-start=\"693\" data-end=\"734\">\n<p data-start=\"695\" data-end=\"734\">a need for efficiency and scalability<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"736\" data-end=\"780\">As a result, AI is most commonly applied in:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"782\" data-end=\"886\">\n<li data-section-id=\"1yuz6k0\" data-start=\"782\" data-end=\"811\">\n<p data-start=\"784\" data-end=\"811\">IT and software companies<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"15ttq9w\" data-start=\"812\" data-end=\"836\">\n<p data-start=\"814\" data-end=\"836\">the financial sector<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1lyvpb7\" data-start=\"837\" data-end=\"859\">\n<p data-start=\"839\" data-end=\"859\">telecommunications<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"17dojnz\" data-start=\"860\" data-end=\"886\">\n<p data-start=\"862\" data-end=\"886\">large, complex systems<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"888\" data-end=\"1094\">In these environments, AI is used pragmatically\u2014as a tool to improve processes, analyze data, and enhance customer experience. The focus is not on experimentation, but on delivering tangible business value.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"1096\" data-end=\"1099\" \/>\n<p data-start=\"1101\" data-end=\"1155\"><strong data-start=\"1101\" data-end=\"1155\">Where is there still room for broader AI adoption?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1157\" data-end=\"1320\">There are sectors where AI has not yet been widely implemented\u2014not due to lack of interest, but because of system complexity and the need for thorough preparation:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1322\" data-end=\"1442\">\n<li data-section-id=\"ix6k93\" data-start=\"1322\" data-end=\"1347\">\n<p data-start=\"1324\" data-end=\"1347\">public administration<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"12qwf4x\" data-start=\"1348\" data-end=\"1362\">\n<p data-start=\"1350\" data-end=\"1362\">healthcare<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"ru8zwi\" data-start=\"1363\" data-end=\"1376\">\n<p data-start=\"1365\" data-end=\"1376\">education<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"q6g0jv\" data-start=\"1377\" data-end=\"1415\">\n<p data-start=\"1379\" data-end=\"1415\">small and medium-sized enterprises<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1rxe967\" data-start=\"1416\" data-end=\"1442\">\n<p data-start=\"1418\" data-end=\"1442\">traditional industries<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1444\" data-end=\"1724\">These sectors require a high level of standardization, high-quality data, and clearly defined operational models\u2014all key prerequisites for successful AI adoption. In many cases, the preparation process is long-term and requires coordinated change, not just technological upgrades.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"1726\" data-end=\"1729\" \/>\n<p data-start=\"1731\" data-end=\"1782\"><strong data-start=\"1731\" data-end=\"1782\">Cultural context: why does the approach matter?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1784\" data-end=\"1877\">The way AI is adopted in a country is strongly influenced by its work and management culture.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1879\" data-end=\"1921\">In Serbia, there is a strong tradition of:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1923\" data-end=\"2045\">\n<li data-section-id=\"1ijyqiw\" data-start=\"1923\" data-end=\"1970\">\n<p data-start=\"1925\" data-end=\"1970\">relying on experience and personal judgment<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"195h03g\" data-start=\"1971\" data-end=\"2003\">\n<p data-start=\"1973\" data-end=\"2003\">flexibility and adaptability<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"wti4ht\" data-start=\"2004\" data-end=\"2045\">\n<p data-start=\"2006\" data-end=\"2045\">rapid response in changing conditions<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2047\" data-end=\"2249\">These traits are often strengths, but when it comes to AI adoption, they may require additional alignment. AI performs best in environments with clearly defined processes and systematic decision-making.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2251\" data-end=\"2513\">In countries like Estonia or Finland, where there is a long-standing trust in systems and institutional processes, AI integrates naturally into existing frameworks. In Serbia, AI more often acts as a catalyst for change, rather than just a technological upgrade.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"2515\" data-end=\"2518\" \/>\n<p data-start=\"2520\" data-end=\"2574\"><strong data-start=\"2520\" data-end=\"2574\">Where could AI bring the greatest value in Serbia?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2576\" data-end=\"2774\"><strong data-start=\"2576\" data-end=\"2590\">Healthcare<\/strong><br data-start=\"2590\" data-end=\"2593\" \/>AI can improve system organization, resource planning, and data analysis\u2014especially in complex and high-demand environments. The goal is not to replace experts, but to support them.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2776\" data-end=\"2973\"><strong data-start=\"2776\" data-end=\"2801\">Public administration<\/strong><br data-start=\"2801\" data-end=\"2804\" \/>Automation of administrative processes and intelligent data analysis can enhance efficiency and transparency, with gradual implementation and clearly defined frameworks.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2975\" data-end=\"3151\"><strong data-start=\"2975\" data-end=\"2983\">SMEs<\/strong><br data-start=\"2983\" data-end=\"2986\" \/>For small and medium-sized businesses, AI can drive productivity and competitiveness\u2014particularly through practical applications in sales, marketing, and operations.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3153\" data-end=\"3297\"><strong data-start=\"3153\" data-end=\"3166\">Education<\/strong><br data-start=\"3166\" data-end=\"3169\" \/>AI can support more personalized learning and modern teaching methods, with a focus on developing digital and analytical skills.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"3299\" data-end=\"3302\" \/>\n<p data-start=\"3304\" data-end=\"3336\"><strong data-start=\"3304\" data-end=\"3336\">Why is now the right moment?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3338\" data-end=\"3357\">Serbia already has:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"3359\" data-end=\"3491\">\n<li data-section-id=\"eze5ct\" data-start=\"3359\" data-end=\"3386\">\n<p data-start=\"3361\" data-end=\"3386\">a strong IT talent pool<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1droft1\" data-start=\"3387\" data-end=\"3421\">\n<p data-start=\"3389\" data-end=\"3421\">a growing innovation ecosystem<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"egvgow\" data-start=\"3422\" data-end=\"3491\">\n<p data-start=\"3424\" data-end=\"3491\">increasing awareness of the importance of data and digitalization<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"3493\" data-end=\"3634\">The next step is aligning technology with strategy\u2014and recognizing that AI is not a standalone initiative, but part of long-term development.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3636\" data-end=\"3731\">Serbia and artificial intelligence are not out of sync.<br data-start=\"3691\" data-end=\"3694\" \/>They are in the process of alignment.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3733\" data-end=\"3947\">AI alone will not transform systems.
