WHAT OUR MENTORS AND INTERNS HAVE TO SAY
Nikola Ninović
Department Director
‘’Making first steps in any business is not easy, especially in programming. When it comes to internship, it is very important that it is guided in the right way so that enables acquiring knowledge and experiences that will lead to autonomy and professional development in the shortest period of time. Saga has a very successful mentoring program that trainees are particularly pleased with. Above all, they appreciate the precise work plan, the continuous evaluation of knowledge and the possibility to acquire concrete knowledge at the end of the practice. After finishing the program, dozens of trainees received permanent employment in Saga, carrying today some of the largest multi-year projects, which makes our mentors particularly proud. A large number of young programmers, in addition to making daily business activities easier, conveys a positive atmosphere and energy outside the workplace (through outings, sport activities, team building). Many friendships have been created from such an environment and have lasted for years. All in all, I would say that internship in Saga is a great experience and great satisfaction.’’’
Milovan Bošković
System Engineer
‘’Choose the job you love, and you will not have to work a day for the rest of your life’’. How many of us really loves what we are doing? Unfortunately, among young people today, most are satisfied with just finding a job. Five years ago, in addition to work, I tried to find something more: a job that I would like to go to each morning, which will put a new challenges in front of me every day and give me the opportunity to gain new knowledge. I wanted to find such a job in the company that cares about me, as much as about my family, which is itself a family made up of experts who will help me become an expert and where I will be able to make progress. I gave Saga a chance, but it did not fulfill my expectations! It fulfilled much more! I started as a trainee in the Customer Care Department, learned a lot in those 6 months and got a chance to get in touch with some more serious challenges. Today I work as an engineer in the Network Solutions Secor on some of the largest projects in the region. Whatever position I held up to now, one thing was certain - I always felt like an important link in the chain and part of the team. And the team? The team is something special. 18 colleagues, 18 great people with whom I have the great honor and pleasure to work. After all the challenges and tasks we have been working on, we are no longer colleagues, but friends. Others say that we are the strongest, the most positive, most compatible and most responsible team. That we are the best. It’s not necessary to be modest. They’re right! Of course, there are always those who think they are better than you… then simply beat them in table tennis :) . Want to be a member of our family? To work in a positive atmosphere with colleagues on which you can rely on at all times? To feel at home? Welcome to Saga!’’

Bid Manager
‘’I had the opportunity to be part of Saga's team by attending training program. Every day was valuable because I was a part of a collective where new knowledge and skills were acquired on a daily basis. Saga provides an opportunity for you to build and learn because your employees' knowledge and support are selflessly shared. A place where hard work and dedication are recognized and appreciated, and they are gladly and honestly provided. There I had an opportunity to meet wonderful colleagues and great people who make Saga special. I am grateful to all of them for the experience I have gained, but in the first place, my mentors, Srdjan and Natalia, who are most deserving of giving the impression of Saga just like this. I am thankful for everything they have taught me, the unconditional time and patience they have given me, and for every opportunity they have given me to help them with their engagement.’’
Dunja Paunović
Intern in the marketing sector
‘’Hearing about my experience regarding internships has made me wonder whether that is something I would like to invest my time in. I was looking for positive experiences, received a few here and there, but nothing too exciting. Three months ago, I started an internship at Saga, where I worked in the marketing department. Looking at it now, it was one of the best decisions I’ve made - it was quite a learning experience. Together we worked on Saga's chatbot solution - Weaver, launching the product into the Serbian market, with all its amazing features, while preparing for the next step, which is to introduce the German market at the Chatbot Summit in Berlin. All of that was done in such a positive and encouraging environment, with incredible people and countless cups of great coffee. I was challenged to go beyond my borders. It can be said with certainty that I learned a lot about chatbots and artificial intelligence, that I feel like I can make my own chatbot now! :) In the end, looking at the results of our hard work and how the team performed in Berlin, I feel really proud. You will always see me talk about it with a huge smile on my face, which means this is a story worth sharing. Thank you Saga!’’’
Minja Petrović
Intern in the machine learning sector
This summer, after completing my undergraduate and master's degrees in Financial and Actuarial Mathematics at the Technical University of Vienna, I was given the opportunity to be part of the Saga team in the machine learning sector. In this very young team, I met a number of interesting and motivating people who are open to new perspectives on problems and who are always ready to answer the questions that are raised. The atmosphere at work was the perfect balance between creation and brainstorming on the one hand, and completing tasks within a given time frame on the other. That freedom and the lack of patterns is exactly what made this internship so special. In a relatively short time, I was able to significantly expand my knowledge in this area, as well as learn about different approaches to solving the same problem. I can confidently say that this experience is one of the most rewarding in my life.
Marko Kojić
System support technician
‘’When I came to the internship in Saga less than two years ago, I had, I believe, like most interns, a small dose of anxiety about how I would show myself, whether my colleagues would accept me and whether I would fit into the team. After the first week, I felt as if I had been here for years. The atmosphere was great, and my colleagues from the department accepted me very well. The internship program at Saga is a very well-designed and very important step if you are at the beginning of your career. I think that the internship was more than useful for me because during that time I got acquainted with the work I will do, as well as with many colleagues with whom I will have the opportunity to work in the future, which further facilitated the process after internship when I was employed at Saga. Colleagues showed great knowledge, patience and, above all, collegiality and humanity. On this occasion, I would like to praise all of them, and most of all my namesake and mentor 😊. I mentioned that the atmosphere is great in my team, but so is the whole Saga. The colleagues I work with very quickly became my friends, with whom I like to spend time outside of work 😊..’’
Njegovan Milović
Junior Engineer for the implementation of Contact Center solutions
‘’In the fourth year of undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Computer Science in Belgrade, I had the opportunity to become part of Saga's team for the development of contact centers as an intern. One of the biggest motivations at the very beginning was the fact that one of the leading IT companies in Serbia recognized my potential. I think that it is very important and significant that young people are encouraged to further development in this way when they finish their studies. For me, this development made me feel like I wanted to become a permanent member of the Saga immediately after starting the internship. As I studied in parallel during my internship, the understanding and support of my mentors and superiors during the time I dedicated to my university obligations was very important to me. Their advice and lessons also meant a lot to me and made me greatly increase my knowledge and skills in a short period of internship. An important confirmation of the importance and quality of the internship program was that after working at Saga I did not feel a significant change in the professional environment. More precisely, the circumstances and atmosphere in which I did my internship, as well as the relationship of my colleagues, made me feel like a permanent member of the team from the first moment, which is why my later job was so simple.
Most important of all, I am sure that the environment in which I currently work provides me with everything I think I need at the current stage of my career - knowledge, experience and the opportunity to progress. I am equally sure that there are many more opportunities for further development of my skills in Saga, and I am looking forward to every next challenge.’’
Nemanja Joksimović
Engineer for Cybersecurity solutions
‘’An internship at Saga gave me the opportunity to gain my first work experience in the profession and meet some great people. The time I spent in practice allowed me to experience firsthand what it looks like to work in a large and successful company. Internship in the Cybersecurity Solutions department has helped me greatly enhance and expand the knowledge I have gained in college and through self-directed learning. The mentor, but also the whole team, tried to make it easier for me to work on the tasks at all times, but also to leave me space to learn from my mistakes, which, of course, was very useful. The atmosphere as well as the interpersonal relations within the sector, but also in the whole Saga, are extraordinary. Every colleague I had the opportunity to work with left a very positive impression, so it often happens that we hang out outside of work. Looking back, I can only say that I was very lucky to be an intern in a company like Saga, because it gave me the opportunity to learn and improve my existing knowledge, and because thanks to the internship I gained new great friendships and learned important life lessons."
Siniša Stanivuk
Junior programmer for machine learning
‘’My general impression of the internship in Saga is excellent. Since I was still a student in addition to the internship, I was very glad that the people I worked with were full of respect for my time that I had to set aside for college. Respecting my time and all other obligations are just one of the many reasons why I would recommend Saga to absolutely everyone. As the internship at Saga was my first experience in the world of work, I would say that it was extremely useful because for the first time I gained insight into what the business atmosphere looks like, how working on real problems and in real teams works. The mentor who was assigned to me at the beginning of the internship, in addition to moderately introducing me to current projects, was there for any of my questions and problems that might arise. Of course, I can't leave out the other colleagues I've worked with because they were also always ready to help when needed. I would characterize my relationship with them as friendly, not business. The team I work in consists of several people, where level of expertise varies - from me who is still an undergraduate student, to a colleague who has as many as two doctorates! This creates a perfect work atmosphere for me because there is always something new that I can learn from my colleagues. In addition, we always have some new ideas, new concepts, new directions that we would try and that we did not know before, in order to expand our knowledge and make the job even more interesting."
